The supremacy of Christ: Baptism (repentance, commitment)
Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [Acts 19:4-5]
The act of baptism doesn’t save us. It however does symbolize how we are saved. Just like how a wedding won’t secure a marriage, it’s a proclamation to the world that you are devoted to your significant other. Baptism is a holy event: You openly acknowledge that you are wiling to devote your body and soul and submit to the promise and power of Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please give me a heart of obedience. May I learn from the examples our Lord Jesus has set. Thank you for your saving grace, that I may be free from the bondage of sin. In your Son’s precious name, Amen.
